DENVER — The Denver Coliseum has once again become the epicenter of Colorado high school basketball as the CHSAA Great 8 and Final Four rounds unfolded this week, producing breakout performances, late-game drama and a slate of teams now one win away from a state championship.
Across multiple classifications, the Coliseum floor saw several standout scoring performances and tightly contested games as programs battled for a spot in Saturday’s title matchups.

Girls Final Four
Green Mountain punched the first ticket to the title game with a 49–39 victory over Montrose, controlling the game defensively and limiting Montrose’s scoring opportunities throughout the second half.
Lutheran followed with one of the closest contests of the day, edging Standley Lake 38–36 in a defensive battle that came down to the final possessions.
In another semifinal, Northfield advanced after defeating Cherokee Trail 67–57, powered by a strong offensive performance led by Delaney Dennis.
Highlands Ranch secured its spot in the championship game with a convincing 52–33 victory over Denver East, with Addie Moon leading the scoring effort.


Boys Final Four
The boys semifinals also produced competitive matchups at the Coliseum.
Silver Creek advanced to the championship after defeating Lewis-Palmer 51–47, holding off a late push to close out the victory.
Lutheran earned its place in the title game with a 77–70 win over Windsor, behind a standout 31-point performance from Kade Speckman.


On Friday, the 4A girls Final Four took the floor at Denver Coliseum to determine the remaining championship matchup.
Kent Denver advanced to the title game with a 53–46 win over Timnath, led by Austin Duncan’s 15-point performance.
Holy Family followed with a 48–40 victory over University, as Gracie Ward paced the Tigers with 12 points to secure their place in the state championship game.


Kent Denver secured its championship berth with an 82–72 victory over Timnath, powered by Sam Glenn’s 23 points.
University advanced after defeating Peak to Peak 82–70, with John Elb leading all scorers with 29 points.
In the 6A boys semifinal, Ralston Valley advanced to the state championship with a 61–49 win over Rangeview, led by Caden Braketta’s 26-point performance.
