AURORA — Regis Jesuit standout Eric Fiedler has been named the 2025-26 Gatorade Colorado Boys Basketball Player of the Year, adding one of the state’s highest individual honors to an already decorated high school career.
The 6-foot-8, 215-pound senior wing led the Raiders to a 15-10 record and a trip to the third round of the Class 6A state tournament this past season. Fiedler averaged 29.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent from the field, finishing as the highest-scoring 6A player to reach the postseason.
He also closed his career as the leading scorer in Regis Jesuit program history with 1,909 points and scored 30 or more points 12 times during the season. Fiedler is ranked as Colorado’s No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2026 by Prep Hoops.
Beyond his production on the floor, the award also recognizes excellence in academics and community impact. Fiedler has maintained a 3.76 GPA and has signed a written letter of athletic aid to continue his basketball career at Colorado State.
He has also made an impact away from the game, volunteering at the Tennyson Center in Denver, helping children who have experienced trauma, while also serving at a local food pantry and participating in a service mission trip to Kenya.
“Eric is an explosive basketball player,” ThunderRidge head coach Joe Ortiz said. “He plays the game with great confidence and aggressiveness. He’s very skilled and can beat you from out to 25 feet or down in the post. Combine all of that with his size and strength and you have a dominant high school basketball player.”
Now in its 41st year, the Gatorade Player of the Year program honors the nation’s top high school athletes for excellence in athletics, academics and character, placing Fiedler among an elite group of state and national winners.
