Brihanna Crittendon of Riverdale Ridge High School has been named the 2025–26 Gatorade Colorado Girls Basketball Player of the Year, recognizing her as the top high school girls basketball player in the state.
The prestigious award, now in its 41st year, honors excellence not only on the court, but also in academics and community impact, placing Crittendon among an elite group of past winners that includes Candace Parker and Paige Bueckers.
A Historic Career
The 6-foot-3 senior forward delivered one of the most dominant seasons in Colorado high school basketball history.
Crittendon led Riverdale Ridge to a 22–4 record and a berth in the Class 6A state quarterfinals while averaging 28.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. She also recorded a 36-point performance in an 86–25 victory over Brighton during the season.
By the end of her high school career, Crittendon had compiled:
2,983 career points (Colorado state record) 891 rebounds 270 assists 323 steals
Her scoring total cements her legacy as the leading scorer in Colorado high school basketball history.

She has volunteered at local elementary and middle schools, worked with the Denver Dream Center, and contributed as a youth basketball camp instructor. She is also a member of her school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter.
In the classroom, she has maintained a weighted 4.11 GPA.
