ENGLEWOOD, CO — The Denver Broncos weren’t done after their first two Day 2 picks. Trading back into the third round, Denver capped off their night by selecting LSU defensive end Sai’vion Jones with the 102nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

For Jones, the call was everything he had dreamed about since childhood.

“Getting the call from the Broncos, it just felt like every kid’s dream,” Jones said.
“Just realizing that one phone call made my dream come true. I’m ready to get to work.”

From Baton Rouge to the NFL

Jones, a Louisiana native, blossomed at LSU into one of the Tigers’ most reliable and versatile defensive linemen. Originally a four-star recruit, he steadily worked his way into the lineup, finishing his college career with 36 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 2024.

His development was a product of patience, hard work, and learning from veteran players ahead of him — a model he plans to replicate in Denver.

“When I got to LSU, I spent my first year learning and soaking up everything from the vets,” Jones said.
“I just have to do the same thing in Denver — keep my head down, learn as much as I can, and work my way up.”

Versatility Up Front

At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Jones brings an imposing frame and positional flexibility to the Broncos’ defensive line. While often labeled an edge rusher, he prides himself on his ability to move across the front.

“Absolutely,” Jones said when asked about his versatility.
“When you pick me, you’re drafting a couple of players. I’m not just an edge player. I can play 4-tech, 3-tech — across the line. That’s one of the reasons they felt like I was the right pick.”

His length, first-step quickness, and ability to disrupt plays in multiple alignments make him an ideal fit for Defensive Coordinator Vance Joseph’s aggressive, flexible scheme.
