SIENNA BETTS SETS COLORADO REBOUNDING RECORD IN COMMANDING GRANDVIEW PLAYOFF WIN 72-30

AURORA, CO — The Grandview Wolves (21-3) showcased their dominance Friday night with a decisive 72-30 victory over the Horizon Hawks (14-11) in the second round of the Colorado State playoffs. The game was highlighted by senior forward Sienna Betts, who became Colorado’s all-time leading rebounder across both boys’ and girls’ basketball, amassing a career total of 1,448 rebounds.

A Historic Achievement

Betts, standing at 6-foot-4, has been a cornerstone of Grandview’s success. Her record-breaking rebound not only cements her legacy in Colorado high school basketball but also underscores her relentless work ethic and passion for the game. This milestone adds to her impressive list of accolades, including being a back to back state champion, two-time Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American.

Dominance on the Court

From the outset, Grandview established control, with Betts leading both offensively and defensively. Her presence in the paint was formidable, contributing significantly to the Wolves’ commanding lead. The team’s cohesive defense stifled Horizon’s scoring opportunities, reflecting Grandview’s preparedness for a deep playoff run.

A Legacy of Excellence

Betts’ journey is deeply rooted in basketball lineage. Born in Spain, she grew up watching her father, Andrew Betts, a 7-foot-1 center who played professionally after a standout career at Long Beach State and a selection in the 1998 NBA Draft. Her older sister, Lauren Betts, also a Grandview alumna, currently stars at UCLA, averaging 19.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.  Sienna is set to join Lauren at UCLA next season, bringing her own impressive skill set to the Bruins.

Looking Ahead

With this victory, Grandview advances to the Sweet 16, inching closer to another state title. Betts’ leadership and record-setting performances have been pivotal, and the Wolves are poised to capitalize on their momentum. As they prepare for the next round, the team’s focus remains steadfast on securing the championship, further solidifying their status in Colorado high school basketball.
