Aurora, CO – The #7-ranked Regis Jesuit Raiders made a statement with a commanding 73-52 victory over the #17 Horizon Hawks on Monday night. Behind the offensive firepower of Eric Fiedler, who poured in 26 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, the Raiders controlled the game from start to finish.
The Raiders, now 7-2 on the season, showcased their depth and precision on both ends of the court. Supporting Fiedler’s standout performance was Lucas Dickinson, who added 15 points, making timely shots to keep the pressure on Horizon throughout the contest.
The game began with Regis Jesuit setting the tone early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter with stifling defense and crisp ball movement. Fiedler was unstoppable, scoring from all areas of the court and capitalizing on key turnovers by the Hawks. Horizon, despite their efforts, struggled to match Regis Jesuit’s pace and efficiency, falling behind by 21 points at halftime.
In the second half, Horizon attempted to rally behind senior guard Mason Marshall, who chipped in with energy and hustle plays. However, the Raiders’ balanced attack proved too much to overcome. Dickinson’s scoring and Fiedler’s all-around dominance ensured there would be no letdown, as Regis Jesuit coasted to their seventh win of the season.
With the victory, the Raiders cement their place among the top teams in Colorado. They’ll look to carry this momentum into their next matchup on Wednesday, January 8, when they travel to face the Overland Trailblazers, who are coming off an 80-72 loss to Broomfield.
For Horizon (6-2), this game marks a tough loss but offers an opportunity to regroup as they prepare for a Granite Peaks contest against Niwot on Tuesday, January 7. The Hawks will need to tighten up defensively and find their rhythm if they hope to bounce back.
