Pro Bowl 2025: Broncos’ Star Players and Their Impact

The Denver Broncos are sending a strong contingent to the 2025 Pro Bowl, with three players earning starting spots and eight more selected as alternates for the league’s annual All-Star showcase, the NFL announced Thursday.

Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr., and cornerback Pat Surtain II have been named Pro Bowl starters, with the event set to take place January 30 and February 2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. This marks the third Pro Bowl nod for Surtain, the second for Mims Jr., and a career-first for Bonitto.

In addition to the starters, the Broncos boast eight alternates: defensive lineman Zach Allen, guard Garett Bolles, fullback Michael Burton, long snapper Mitchell Fraboni, safety Brandon Jones, kicker Wil Lutz, guard Quinn Meinerz, and quarterback Bo Nix.

A Look at the Broncos’ Pro Bowl Standouts

Pat Surtain II: Setting the Standard

Surtain continues to cement his legacy as one of the NFL’s premier cornerbacks. With his third consecutive Pro Bowl selection, he becomes the first cornerback in Broncos history to achieve this milestone in his first four seasons. Surtain joins an elite group of Denver defensive backs, including Louis Wright and Champ Bailey, who were perennial Pro Bowl fixtures.

This season, Surtain has been a cornerstone of the Broncos’ defense, tallying 42 tackles, four interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown), and 11 passes defensed. His shutdown ability is unmatched, as evidenced by his league-leading 287 yards allowed in coverage among cornerbacks with 300 or more snaps.

Nik Bonitto: A Breakout Year

In his third season, Bonitto earned his first Pro Bowl nod by delivering a stellar performance on the edge. He became the first Broncos linebacker to record double-digit sacks (11.5) since 2018, showcasing his knack for disrupting opposing offenses. Bonitto also contributed two defensive touchdowns, making him one of only seven players in NFL history to accomplish this feat in a single season.

Bonitto’s versatility and big-play ability have made him a cornerstone of the Broncos’ pass rush, and his Pro Bowl recognition underscores his growing reputation as one of the league’s rising stars.

Marvin Mims Jr.: Dynamic Return Specialist

Mims Jr. continues to electrify as a return specialist, earning his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection. The second-year standout is only the second Bronco, alongside Von Miller, to be named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons. Mims has also joined the ranks of Broncos Ring of Famer Rick Upchurch as one of the franchise’s most decorated returners.

This season, Mims led the league with 408 punt return yards while averaging an impressive 27.7 yards per kickoff return. His contributions in the return game have provided the Broncos with a critical edge in field position throughout the season.

Pro Bowl Festivities: Fun and Competition

The 2025 Pro Bowl will once again feature “The Pro Bowl Games,” a series of skill-based competitions, including dodgeball, tug-of-war, precision passing, and 7-on-7 flag football. Bonitto, Mims Jr., and Surtain will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in these events while representing the Broncos on one of the NFL’s biggest stages.

As the Broncos celebrate their Pro Bowl honorees, the recognition serves as a testament to the team’s talent and the individual achievements of its stars. With three starters and eight alternates, Denver’s presence in Orlando is a proud moment for the franchise and its fans.
