LAS VEGAS – The Denver Broncos secured a 29-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, marking their first win at Allegiant Stadium and bolstering their playoff aspirations.
Rookie quarterback Bo Nix led the charge, completing 25 of 42 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns. His 18-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton in the third quarter set a new franchise rookie record, surpassing Marlin Briscoe’s 14 touchdown passes from 1968. Nix and Sutton connected again in the fourth quarter with a 2-yard touchdown, extending Denver’s lead and solidifying the win.
Sutton’s performance was equally impressive, as he hauled in eight receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns. This game marked his fifth consecutive outing with at least 70 receiving yards, the longest streak by a Broncos player since Demaryius Thomas’ eight-game run in 2014.
The Broncos’ defense also played a crucial role, with safety Brandon Jones intercepting Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew early in the second half, leading to a touchdown. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto recorded his 10th sack of the season, a strip-sack late in the game that sealed the victory for Denver.
With this win, the Broncos improved to 7-5, taking another step toward an unexpected playoff berth. The Raiders, meanwhile, have lost seven consecutive games, their longest skid since the 2017-18 seasons.
Looking ahead, the Broncos will host the Cleveland Browns next week, aiming to continue their momentum and strengthen their position in the playoff race.
