Mountain Vista Secures Commanding 35-0 Victory Over Arapahoe

Mountain Vista High School continued to roll this season with a decisive 35-0 win over Arapahoe High School on Friday, August 30th. The Golden Eagles showcased a well-balanced attack on both sides of the ball, in their first home win of the season.

Senior quarterback and South Dakota commit Austyn Modrzewski led the charge, completing 23 of 34 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Modrzewski’s performance was highlighted by a 51-yard touchdown bomb to wide receiver Brooklyn Bailey, demonstrating his ability to connect on deep throws.

The Golden Eagles’ ground game was anchored by senior running back Jack Blais, who rushed 13 times for 74 yards and added a touchdown to the team’s total. Modrzewski’s accurate passing spread the ball effectively across the field, with wide receivers Jackhai Mack, Jepree Jennings, and Sean Conway each hauling in a touchdown pass.

On the defensive side, Mountain Vista’s unit held strong, preventing Arapahoe from finding the end zone despite a 219-yard passing effort by Warriors’ quarterback Mitchell Price. Arapahoe struggled to maintain momentum, unable to break through the Golden Eagles’ defensive line.

With this victory, Mountain Vista moves to 2-0 on the season and looks ahead to their next game against Erie. Meanwhile, Arapahoe will need to regroup quickly as they prepare to face Heritage next week
