In a one-sided affair, Denver East overwhelmed Sand Creek with a 42-0 shutout at All-City Stadium on Saturday, August 24th, marking a dominant start to their 2024 football campaign. The Angels’ victory was characterized by a high-powered offense, defense, and special teams that refused to give an inch.
The Angels came out firing, quickly putting points on the board with a balanced attack. Their quarterback, Declan MacDonald (’26) was in top form, orchestrating the offense with accuracy, while the running back Sean Campbell (’25) capitalized on wide-open lanes created by an imposing offensive line. By halftime, Denver East had built an insurmountable lead 28-0, leaving Sand Creek struggling to keep pace.
On the defensive side, Denver East was just as impressive. The Angels’ defense, lead by edge DJ Crowe (’25) smothered Sand Creek’s offense, not allowing a single point and forcing multiple turnovers. Sand Creek found themselves repeatedly thwarted, unable to break through the relentless pressure of Denver East’s front seven.
This decisive win highlights Denver East’s readiness to take on the season, while Sand Creek will need to make significant adjustments as they prepare for their next challenge.
