Everyone went out there and we just hung out, worked out at SMU. I love calling up there,” he said. “We don’t have coaches there, just kind of figuring solutions together.”

He also emphasized the importance of player-led discussions during training. “We’re up here so much with the coaches, so just kind of talking about it, understanding what we’re seeing as players, especially hearing from the quarterbacks. Knowing what they’ve seen in the past and what they think could happen in the game, all that stuff helps a lot.”

Regarding the new kickoff rule, Mims remarked, “It’s been different. There are a lot of unknown things about it. We’ll see what happens in the preseason. It’s been a lot of fun for us because we always try to have a head up on other teams. Going into the preseason, we’ll see a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. We’re really looking forward to the preseason to see what other teams do as well as ourselves and how it works.”
